The outing will kick off on February 18, 2011 at the State Theatre in Portland, ME and include a return to New York City's Terminal 5 (2/22). Anastasio will play his first solo dates in Colorado and California since 2006, wrapping up the tour with a two-night stand at Denver's Ogden Theatre (3/1 & 2) and shows at the Music Box in Los Angeles (3/4) and the historic Fox Theatre in Oakland, CA (March 5th).

An online ticket request period for "A Very Special Acoustic and Electric Evening with Trey Anastasio and the Trey Anastasio Band" will begin Friday, January 14th, at 10:00 AM ET at trey.com. Tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, January 21, 2011. See below for itinerary and specific on sale dates.

This will be Anastasio's first tour with full acoustic and electric sets since 1999, when he launched his first full solo run. For the acoustic set,he'll draw on material written over the course of his entire career.

The electric set will feature the return of the septet incarnation of the Trey Anastasio Band that debuted on his 2010 winter tour, comprising Russ Lawton (drums), Tony Markellis (bass), Ray Paczkowski (keyboards), Russell Remington (tenor saxophone and flute), Jennifer Hartswick (trumpet and vocals) and Natalie Cressman (trombone and vocals).

"During 'Alive Again' as he belted out the lyrics, 'the time has come for you to be alive again!' the sold-out Riviera came alive," said Time Out Chicago while Carolina Lifestyles noted: "This band is Trey Anastasio's bungee cord, allowing him to consistently jump over the cliff at will, yet keeping him from hitting the ground...Oftentimes it became volcanic, exploding with an intensity you don't often see, especially for such extended lengths of time."

Phish frontman releases Trey Anastasio Band's TAB at the Tab

TAB at the Tab, a collection of songs from the septet's February 2010 performance at the legendary Tabernacle in Atlanta, GA, was released by Anastasio's Rubber Jungle Records last fall. "The arrangements are tight but the spontaneity -- even in older tunes such as 'Money, Love & Change,' 'Drifting,' and the complex, seldom-heard 'Goodbye Head' -- is ever present, giving the proceedings the very comfortable meld of a seasoned road band," observed allmusic.com. "The three-part harmonies are an enormous part of this album's appeal. Anastasio's baritone melds seamlessly with the voices of Hartswick and Cressman." "Trey Anastasio shines on live disc with solo band," said Associated Press, noting: "the addition of horns and two female vocalists, including 18-year-old Natalie Cressman on her first national tour, provide new layers of sound."

Anastasio is a founding member of the GRAMMY®-nominated, genre-melding rock band Phish, which has released 15 studio albums, 77 complete live concert CDs and a series of 201 full concert downloads. He has also released eight solo albums, which draw inspiration from experimental jazz, pop, reggae, metal, classical and barbershop music. The Trey Anastasio Band has backed the singer/guitarist on much of his solo work and also serves asa breeding ground of sorts, with many of its songs eventually crossing over into Phish's repertoire.

Time Turns Elastic, a classical piece written by Anastasio and his frequent collaborator, celebrated composer/arranger Don Hart, has been performed by Orchestra Nashville, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic. In 2009, Rubber Jungle Records released Anastasio's studio recording of Time Turns Elastic with The Northwest Sinfonia, conducted by David Sabee. He recently collaborated with Hart on arrangements for an acoustic concert with The Scorchio Quintet at Princeton University's Richardson Auditorium. Anastasio released Live From Princeton, a free download of the show, last month.
