Björk has re-launched www.bjork.com as a brand new website to tie in with the start of her groundbreaking 'Biophilia' campaign; her forthcoming exploration of music, nature and technology.
Using the very latest HTML5 technology the site is heavily animated and interactive.
It features a unique immersive 3D galaxy with versions that can be enjoyed on almost all devices.
Visitors can use their mouse and keyboard to "fly" through a virtual 3D space environment as they navigate the site (on a keyboard the universe can be navigated by clicking and dragging and by using the arrow and shift keys).
Björk Biophilia residency @ Manchester International Festival 2011
Bjork.com now produces a user experience unlike any other artist website, with a huge template for exploration, unveiling surprises to be discovered as you delve deeper into the site in virtual 'zero gravity'.
Initially the full universe is fully supported by Google Chrome and Safari browsers and will shortly be available through Firefox. Currently operating as a holding page, the full content of the site will be available shortly.
The site features audio clips introducing the new experience and will ultimately be a complete hub for all past, present and future Björk information.
Tracks for the upcoming album, a teaser video for one of the new songs and updated news will also be added to the site in the coming weeks.
The site re-launch comes as Björk prepares for her live residency at this year's Manchester International Festival.
For six special shows starting on June 30, 2011, Björk will be premiering new tracks from the forthcoming Biophilia studio album as well as music from her genre-defying back catalogue with a small group of unique musical collaborators. The show will feature a range of specially conceived and crafted instruments to produce a truely unique and groundbreaking live experience.
