Beverley Knight to release "Cuddly Toy" single + November UK tour dates

UK Queen of Soul Beverley Knight is set to release new single "Cuddly Toy" on 29th August, 2011.

Taken from her just released, critically acclaimed album 'Soul UK', - a tribute to the British soul music and artists who inspired her - "Cuddly Toy" was originally a hit for Roachford on both sides of the Atlantic in 1988, reaching #4 in the UK single charts.

In Beverley's words:

"Roachford showed a cynical British media that British soul could also be fused with a rockier sound and not only work, but be a global hit. This, as well as many of his songs, influenced my own writing style."

The spirit of classic Beverley tracks such as her top ten hit "Come As You Are" or live favourite "Black Butta" can be heard running through "Cuddly Toy", with its pounding double time snare, gospel tinged vocals and mid section breakdown, and it is sure to become an immediate fan favourite.

Beverley Knight will also be taking her critically lauded live show on the road again this November in support of 'Soul UK', which entered the Top 15 of the UK album charts earlier this month as the highest new entry.

Knight has toured the UK and Europe several times over her 15+ year career to rave reviews. Among the highlights have been two sell out shows at London's iconic Royal Albert Hall (her third is this November 16th on the upcoming Soul UK tour) and supporting the likes of Prince, Take That, Santana and Jamiroquai.
