Kids On Bridges release This Is Widescreen / Check Your Head [Stream Track]

This Is Widescreen / Check Your Head is the new single by Kids On Bridges (K.O.B.).

The track is released on February 20th through Rise International Music.

Kids On Bridges are originally from the North West of England and is the brainchild of Christain Bragg, who has made it his vocation to produce dirty filthy electro pop.

Their eclectic sound of rock on a bunk up from synthpop has seen them compared to just about everyone from The Killers, Daft Punk, Phoenix, Depeche Mode.

The singles as well as the upcoming album in 2012 features production by Chemical Brothers collaborator Steve Dub, Kids on Bridges' radio-ready and melody-heavy music bears scant resemblance to the big beat pioneers.

The band host a radio show on Jazz Fm called Kids on bridges Takeover playing new funk / Electro / Cross over Jazz, which in the past have included guests such as Lenny Kravitz, Jill Scott, Fujiya & Miyagi to name a few.

K.O.B have recently reopened Eric's in Liverpool supporting electronic legends OMD. Add to this, a recent guest performance at the legendary Tipitinas in in New Orleans after being heard on WOZ (The radio station in the HBO show Treme).

The band have just remixed 4 x recently Grammy winner Ledisi next single "Pieces of me" and are currently working on remixes for Lenny Kravitz and US artist Trombone showing their cross over ability from electro into Jazz Funk.

The band's debut single Check Your Head flips the switch from agro to disco in two taps of a high hat, the street-tough demeanour fading, in and out with vocoders and falsetto. For all their retro name-checkery the ticking four-to-the-floor beats and pulsing digi-strings of Check Your Head is closer to Calvin Harris or Basement Jaxx at full tilt. The single will also feature remixes by Ocelot (Killers / Robyn etc).

This Is Widescreen / Check Your Head is out on 20th February 2012.
