Hot Head Show Roma Live EP Digital Release via Tentacle Entertainments 27th April 2012
Primarily for sentimental reasons, London's premier Avant-Bang trio Hot Head Show have decided to release a blistering balls-out blitzkrieg of a Live EP product - ROMA LIVE - as it was the last show performed on instruments which, after years of faithful service which saw countless Showtimes as well as the recording of HHS's ecstatically acclaimed debut album The Lemon LP, were stolen from the van whilst the band sipped cappuccinos in a caff round the corner the following morning.
Mastered from a raw stereo bootleg, ROMA LIVE captures Hot Head Show at an important moment in the year the band first toured Europe and the USA, with single Payload spinning vehemently on mainstream radio playlists in several countries. And having been on the road with Primus for most of the summer, that sweaty evening in Rome saw the Show at the height of its touring prowess.
The EP is a digital release timed to tie in nicely with the band's forthcoming European tour, which begins with five UK dates before returning to their rapidly swelling fanbase in Italy, Germany and Holland (full schedule below).
New album Double Happiness is slated for release on Tentacle Entertainments in September.
Frontman Jordan Bennett on ROMA LIVE:
"Our live entertainments and our studio entertainments are really such different animals that we've wanted for a while to get a live record out there. And that night in Roma was such a banger - the last noises those instruments ever made in our arms were among the finest they'd given us, plus we figured the whole stolen guitars story would be a good PR angle that might shift some extra units."
