Alcoholic Faith Mission Signs to Old Flame Records
Preps Forthcoming Album, Ask Me This
Danish sextet Alcoholic Faith Mission has signed to Old Flame Records (MillionYoung, Letting Up Despite Great Faults) for the release of its new Ask Me This LP, out on March 27th.
After receiving a wealth of accolades for past videos "My Eyes to See" and "Legacy," including one of Stereogum's 'Best Videos of the Week,' Spinner's 'Video of the Day,' and 'Best Cinematography' and 'Excellence' awards at the Los Angeles Film Festival,' they've added another thoughtful clip to the collection with the new "Into Pieces" video.
Filmed in a Copenhagen artspace, the video conceptualizes a man losing his love (and guts) only to be resurrected by a new one.
Alcoholic Faith Mission - Into Pieces official video:
Alcoholic Faith Mission's last few years on the road have been marked by sold-out European sets and appearances at Reykjavík's Iceland Airwaves, SXSW, CMW, and CMJ. With European performances currently underway, the band look forward to a North American tour in late spring.
Highlighted by MTV, Brooklyn Vegan, Esquire, and New York Times, Alcoholic Faith Mission completed Ask Me This last fall with producer Tom McFall (R.E.M., Weezer, Stars).
Though the members hail from Denmark, the band was actually formed in Brooklyn in 2006 by high school friends Thorben Jensen and Sune Sølund. When the pals stumbled upon Brooklyn's Apostolic Faith Mission Church, they reasoned that alcohol was as necessary an elixir as religion is for the pious. Thus, their own Alcoholic Faith Mission came to be.
"Brooding lyrics and crying-in-your-beer folk-balladeer singalongs...[Alcoholic Faith Mission] wreck your heart with carefully calibrated bombs of acoustic sorrow." - MTV (International Artists to Watch at SXSW '11)
