Robert Glasper Experiment performs on CBS Late Show With David Letterman

Robert Glasper Experiment is set to appear on CBS Late Show With David Letterman on February 29, 2012 with special guests Lupe Fiasco and Bilal.

The band will perform "Always Shine" off of Glasper's forthcoming album Black Radio, which will be released February 28 by EMI's Blue Note Records.

WNYC Soundcheck has also announced a special live performance and interview broadcast in The Greene Space with Robert Glasper Experiment featuring Bilal on February 27.

Robert Glasper has announced additional U.S. tour dates including shows in Atlanta, Boston, Detroit, Memphis, Dallas, and his hometown of Houston. Anticipation for Black Radio continues to build with Billboard naming the album one of their Best Bets for 2012. The Los Angeles Times named Glasper one of their Faces To Watch in 2012, writing that Black Radio "takes all he's accomplished somewhere new, and it's undeniably fascinating," and praising the album's "rich musical interplay and a fearless, uncompromising spirit." EBONY wrote that "Glasper takes his listeners on a hipster trip, full of Black cool," while ESSENCE proclaimed "Glasper resurrects the neosoul genre with this meticulous collection of mid-tempo head-nodding gems." MAGNET remarked that "Black Radio feels like a critical document, as if it's elevating the largely forgotten 'conscious' urban sound against mainstream radio's ceaseless glamorization of ratchets, bling and club life."

Black Radio boldly stakes out new musical territory and transcends any notion of genre, drawing from jazz, hip-hop, R&B, soul and rock, but refusing to be pinned down by any one tag.

The album showcases Glasper as a multi-talented producer, songwriter, keyboardist, and bandleader, and features many of his famous friends from across the spectrum of urban music, seamlessly incorporating appearances from a jaw-dropping roll call of special guests that includes Erykah Badu, Bilal, Lupe Fiasco, Lalah Hathaway, Shafiq Husayn (Sa-Ra), KING, Ledisi, Meshell Ndegeocello, Chrisette Michele, Musiq Soulchild, Stokley Williams (Mint Condition), and yasiin bey.
