Remember Vanessa Carlton? The sing-songy-sweet gal who rode around the streets on a piano in the “Thousand Miles” video? Well, Vanessa’s back and judging by her video, mama’s got a brand new bag…
First, she signed a while back to Irv Gotti’s label The Inc. (Think Ja Rule, Ashanti, MURDER Inc…are bells ringing?) No, she hasn’t taken the leap of many a pop star looking for a reinvention and traded the piano for pleather and back up dancers, but has come back onto the scene with a bit of a more honest and mature sound. After touring with Stevie Nicks and spending some time on her own in Nolita with her dog, here’s Vanessa’s latest effort from the forthcoming Heroes & Thieves due out October 9th 2007, “Nolita Fairytale”:
