Atlanta’s GroovProject Releases Sophomore Recording

ATLANTA, GA – GroovProject, a Atlanta based soul-jazz band, has released their sophomore recording entitled, The Life, The Loss, The Love. The effort features 14 songs, eight of which were written by the band’s director and drummer, Donovan “Groov” Henderson. The Life, The Loss, The Love is available on CD the band’s website, personal appearances by the band and online at CDBABY. The band appears frequently at Sunset Café and throughout Atlanta area.

GroovProject has been performing for over 2 years, and is one of the area’s premier soul-jazz bands. Their unique mix of soul, jazz, rock and pop, puts a fresh face on the contemporary jazz sound. A recent fan from Atlanta said, “This is the type of sound that is above and beyond good. It’s SENSATIONAL giving that tingle in your spine type of feeling. You Go GP, much success!”

The Life, The Loss, The Love was recorded at Sirama Sound Lab in Atlanta, GA and FSP Studios in Stone Mountain, GA under the guiding hand of producer and recording engineer Donovan “Groov” Henderson.

GroovProject consists of Donovan “Groov” Henderson on drums, and percussion, and Reggie “Fro” Carter on keyboards. The band was joined on the debut recording project with former members Melvin Byrd on sax, Reyes Torres III on guitar, Carl Rives on bass, and Kevin Tanner on percussion.
