Sodacon was formed by Jesse David in 2005. They have a sound like the Foo Fighters got together with Jack Johnson and Michael Hedges at a card table, and then invited a few members of Queens of the Stone Age over for a jam. During the cardgame/jam, a fight broke out over which genre they wanted to play, straight forward rock, classic, punk, or acoustic. Then Wang Chung shows up with a 9mm and a plastic bag and says "give me all your money".
