The New Loud release debut album Measures Melt

Indie-electro punkers The New Loud follow up the critical acclaimed EP 'Can't Stop Not Knowing' with the release of their debut full-length 'Measures Melt' on June 8, 2010.

The New Loud

If The Pixies can be described as loud, quiet, loud, then The New Loud can be described as loud, louder, LOUDEST.

'Measures Melt,' the debut full-length from this Milwaukee 3 piece marks an evolution in the band's songcraft and production from their EP, 'Can't Stop Not Knowing' that was released to critical acclaim earlier this year.

Showcasing a strong sense of urgency, each of the 10 tracks on 'Measures Melt' is a tightly wound piece full of melodic/aggressive male/female vocals amid hooky keyboards and noise guitar. All of this rides atop a club style rhythm section coursing with alley-fight adrenaline.

From the chunky opening riff of the instant likeable "Secrets" to the fading distorted breakcore drums of "Every Girl I See" the collection of songs on 'Measures Melt' glides effortlessly between dance and rock, dissonance and melody.

Produced/Recorded by New Loud leader Shane Olivo in his basement studio and mixed by Mark Trombino (Jimmy Eat World, Rilo Kiley, Drive Like Jehu), 'Measures Melt' incorporates up to 80+ tracks in each song. This obsessive production style creates a unique dynamic in which New Loud songs offer a steady build, ramping up the densely layered energy to an ultimate crescendo.
