Dutch DJ/Producer Richard Durand mixes In Search Of Sunrise 8

Richard Durand - In Search Of Sunrise 8

In February, Black Hole Recordings announced that In Search Of Sunrise - the Holy Grail of trance music compilations - would return in spring/summer 2010. What followed was a period of intense speculation. With Tiesto departed, who'd take over the In Search Of Sunrise reins? Online forums were abuzz.

Since 2006 - the same year Tiesto tipped his hat towards the budding DJ/producer in the UK's DJ Magazine as a talent-to-watch - Richard Durand has been on dance music's fast-track.

From the early days of his remixes of Tiesto's "Lethal Industry" and "Flight 643," Richard Durand has become one of the most consistently dependable producers on the global electronic scene, crafting and shaping his own sound.

As a DJ, his career has evolved from being "the next big thing" to that of headlining large events, a passage that now sees Durand ranked as one of the top 50 spinners on the planet.

With a dramatic passing of the baton, Durand has embraced his role as In Search Of Sunrise's new master mixer.

What would a music-lover expect from this, the 8th installment of the In Search Of Sunrise series? The fundamentals remain unchanged.

In Search Of Sunrise 8 pursues a mission to uncover the newest, best, most bleeding-edge tunes from the best EDM artists on earth, including Durand's own "For No Reason" and "N.Y.C.," the latter featuring superstar vocalist, JES.

The 2xCD compilation includes what will be surefire summer anthems played throughout Europe's massive festivals and Ibiza's clubs.

Said Durand, "I was long inspired by South Africa. Gigs there ensued; I'm amazed by the fresh and rapidly expanding scene, musically."
