Chop Shop/Atlantic recording artist Anya Marina has announced touring plans to support the release of her digital EP, titled 'Spirit School'.
After a co-headlining show with Steve Poltz on December 5th at Mississippi Studios in Portland, OR, Marina will be kicking off 2011 with a run of dates supporting Joshua Radin, beginning on January 28th at Mr. Small's Theater in Pittsburgh, PA (see itinerary below).

Available now at all DSPs, Spirit School features four newly recorded songs, all self-produced by Marina. Having relocated to Portland, OR, Marina enlisted the services of friend/neighbor Courtney Taylor-Taylor from The Dandy Warhols for her gritty rocker "Whatsit," which made its premiere on SPIN.com.
Other noteworthy collaborations include Telekinesis' Michael Lerner on the EP's title track and an inspired remix of "Satellite Heart" (Marina's standout composition/performance featured in The Twilight Saga: New Moon film and on its accompanying soundtrack) by Interpol drummer Sam Fogarino.
Spirit School opener "You Are Invisible" will be prominently featured in this week's episode of ABC's Grey's Anatomy. (Check your local listings for show times.)
Spirit School is a precursor of sorts to Marina's forthcoming full length album, due out in Spring 2011.
Marina's 2009 Chop Shop/Atlantic debut, Slow & Steady Seduction: Phase II was produced by Louis XIV's Brian Karscig and Spoon's Britt Daniel, and received a raft of critical acclaim including a three-star review in Rolling Stone and a full-page "Breaking Out" feature in Spin.
FILTER praised the album as "a playfully rhythmic and melodic collection of thought-provoking pop tunes that present a matured songwriter with a bit of edge," while Marie Claire hailed Anya for "(salting) her cutesy pop with conspiratorial whispers, cooing around hurdy-gurdy rhythms." "This lady really is a vamp," declared People, "seducing you with a sultry mix of pop, folk, blues, jazz, even bossa nova - and a Lolita-like voice that brings to mind a naughty Corinne Bailey Rae."
Marina followed up with a slyly provocative cover of T.I.'s "Whatever You Like" and the starkly, beautiful "Satellite Heart" on the RIAA-certified platinum The Twilight Saga: New Moon - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.
