Flashguns

So So Modern + Flashguns are set to play @ White Heat - Madame Jojo's, London on Tuesday, 2nd September, 2008

About the bands:

So So Modern

Turning all the right heads with their UK tour last year, So So Modern are a high-velocity artrock punk-funk quartet from Wellington, New Zealand, who describe their music, a synth-heavy electro-dance fusion of bleeps, guitars and whirlwind drums, as "a platform for sharing ideas, stories and gathering". With their matching nu-rave hoodies, screeching theramins and total imaginative commitment, their performance is a loud, anarchic, visually unforgettable electro-shock treatment.
"The band mix excitable post-new-rave head rushes with DIY aesthetics ... a synth-tastic party" - Metro.
"Schizophrenic synth psychos ... a complex melange of truncated beats and stupefying rhythms" - The Fly.
"... the imagination of Foals, the attitude of Devo, the complexity of Liars, the dancing IQ of Daft Punk ..." - Artrocker.
"... will drill a new dimension in your brain" - Dazed and Confused.

Flashguns
Young Brighton fourpiece Flashguns ably display the thrashing guitars and catchy choruses of modern indie urchins, but drawing on influences like The Smiths, The Cure and other 80s British new wave with a maturity beyond their years, lifts them well above the norm, producing memorable music without sacrificing intelligence or intrigue.
