Sparkling UK talent goes global with debut single release
One of the brightest talents on today's new music scene FranKo are poised to burst into the mainstream with their just released (September 7th), brilliant new single "Night Time".
The band, Tommy Bastow (Vocals), Richard Craker (Guitar), Chris Gilbertson (Bass) and Beau Poynts (Drums) have been steadily gigging since their formation in 2007 and have already built up an enthusiastic following both in the UK and internationally.
Watch "Night Time" video:
Just back in the UK from trips to the US and Thailand where they were mobbed at the airport and had their live shows featured on MTV Asia, they went straight back into the studio to finish recording their debut album with Jim Lowe (producer for Stereophonics), Dario Dendi, (who has worked with The Killers, Oceansize and Franz Ferdinand) and Jason
Wilcock (who has worked with Fightstar and You Me At Six). Not bad going for a band who are all still attending High School!
As you might expect though this no ordinary teenage band and citing musical influences ranging from The Beatles to Incubus via Radiohead and Kings Of Leon they display a musical maturity far beyond their years.
Still very much a young band though with all the excitement and enthusiasm that goes with it they played their biggest gig yet in Crystal Palace Park on September 5th in front of an audience of 6500 Girl Guides at the organisation's Centenary Year Launch Party.
Hot on the heels of that they'll be crossing the Atlantic again to play in New York at the US Music Industry's premier new music event CMJ.
With their knockout debut album scheduled for early next year and a whole string of live dates being scheduled throughout the Autumn this is one young band you definitely have to catch while you still can!
