Yael Meyer releases Heartbeat EP

Chilean born and L.A based songstress Yael Meyer is set to release a new album.

Her second independent release ‘Heartbeat EP’, will be available via iTunes and amazon mp3 on November 10th 2009.

The EP features all new material written by Yael Meyer.

Recorded in Los Angeles and produced by Bill Lefler (Ingrid Michaelson, Tim Myers, Fall Out Boy, Gym Class Heroes) ‘Heartbeat’ includes guest appearances by Danny Levine on trumpet (Lenka), Fil Krohnengold on acoustic guitar and accordion (Meiko) and Joseph Karnes on bass (Jesca Hoop).

BIO

Born in Santiago de Chile, one of the southernmost southern countries of the world where deserts, waterfalls, glaciers and mountains coexist in a 4000 km coastline, Yael began dancing and singing at a very young age. Always humming made up tunes, she took on formal piano training at age 5, song-writing at 8 and guitar playing at 13.

At 19, after receiving a scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, she left Chile and settled in Boston where she met amazing people and her mind and heart opened wide to a new world of music and perception.

In 2004 Yael self released her debut ‘Common Ground’, a blend of indie folk and lounge electronica, which was hailed by audiences and praised by critics as “one of the top 50 albums of the year” (Rolling Stone Chile).

Yael currently resides in Los Angeles, where she continues to perform, write, produce, record and collaborate with various artists, film-makers, musicians, singers and songwriters.

Her voice and music have appeared in numerous recordings and films including the opening track to the Chilean-Mexican production El Brindis for which she was commissioned to write and produce the song “Aqui”. Her music can also be heard on the documentaries: Al Final del Tunel, Holocaust: 3rd Generation, Ondinas and Ralph Lauren runway shows.

Yael plays various instruments both live and on her recordings including guitar, bass guitar, percussion, accordion, glockenspiel, keyboards, piano, melodica, ukulele and ocarina.
