Leeds based folk pop 5 piece Ellen and the Escapades are to play a special, one off London show at The Lexington on the 2nd March, 2011.
Up in Leeds and the surrounding areas, the dusky, captivating vocals of 22 year old Ellen Smith and her wonderfully wholesome band have gathered quite a fan base.

Tickets recently went on sale for their gig in May at York House and they sold out in two hours.
Ellen and the Escapades are: Ellen Smith - lead vocals, acoustic guitar, harmonica, Chris Quick - keys, backing vocals, harmonica, Jeff Schneider - guitar, backing vocals, James Warrender - drums, and Andy Calder - bass.
The band list their influences as Bob Dylan, The Eagles and Fleetwood Mac, as well as more contemporary artists such as Ryan Adams, Laura Marling, and Paulo Nutini.
Last year was quite a year for Ellen and The Escapades. Amongst playing a host of festivals including The Great Escape, Summer Sundae and Larmer Tree, it saw them win the Q Magazine/Glastonbury emerging talent competition and then playing a total of 5 stages at the festival (including a headline set on The Greenpeace stage).
They garnered some great support from press and radio (including a live session on 6Music for Lauren Laverne) for their self released EP.

So what does 2011 have in store for the band? There's an April single release along with a special announcement for Record Store Day, a tour coming up and a summer of festivals including Green Man, Bestival and of course, Glastonbury.
