Alice Gold's new sultry single "Cry Cry Cry" impacts on June 27, 2011 on Fiction (available on iTunes from May 15th).
The stripped back, beat-focused "Cry Cry Cry" vividly mixes darkness and light. It might be a song about having a good old blub, but this refreshingly melodic track sounds like a pitcher full of sunshine to us.
Gold by name and gold by nature, there's an immense warmth not just in Alice's sound but in her tender lyrics.
Produced by Dan Carey (Franz Ferdinand, Hot Chip, Lily Allen), "Cry Cry Cry" is an expressive, summertime shuffle that will no doubt be lighting up Glastonbury Festival when Alice opens the Other Stage the weekend before the single impacts.
Alice Gold's debut album, 'Seven Rainbows', is out on July 4th. The stunning ten track collection sees this guitar goddess takes her lead from Janis Joplin, Françoise Hardy, Jefferson Airplane and Patti Smith.
