Mamas Gun are set to release their single "Reconnection" on August 15, 2011 through Candelion Records.
The track has been lifted from the band's second album The Life & Soul released earlier this month.
The Life & Soul (and indeed Reconnection) was produced by Grammy Award winning production team Martin Terefe and Andreas Olsson (named in the Top Ten best pop producers by Billboard this year and noted for success with artists such as Jason Mraz, Train, James Morrison, KT Tunstall and Jamie Cullum) and is the follow up to the band's debut Routes To Riches, a record that Billboard described as "a kaleidoscope of a record that travels through genres."

The album was received well by media worldwide including in Japan were it made a huge impact and Mamas Gun were heralded as the most played international act in the country.
"Reconnection" is a song about the after life and reconnecting with your loved ones, no coincidence then that it's also a play on the word reincarnation. The song is also the most anthemic track Mamas Gun have released to date, appearing almost Queen-like in its ambition, a fact that didn't escape the band when they were recording it: Mamas Gun cite Queen as a huge influence and actually sent Reconnection to Brian May who loved it, commenting "what a great bit of work!" suggesting he and Mamas Gun should collaborate together in the future.
In conjunction with the release, Mamas Gun have also announced a competition for fans to submit their own promo video clips for Reconnection as part of an alternative fan video. For more details you can watch their video announcement below. The competition closes on August 12, 2011 - more details on their Official Website.
