Continues US Tour with The War on Drugs and Heads to Europe

Carter Tanton has debuted a new single "Fake Pretend" featuring the dream-like vocals of folk chanteuse Marissa Nadler.

Taken from his forthcoming full-length, Freeclouds, out November 15, 2011 on Western Vinyl, the album "reminds us of cross-country roadtrips...and basically the best things about fall," says NYLON.

Tanton has been supporting his forthcoming album on a coast to coast full band tour with The War On Drugs, stopping through KEXP today for an in-studio performance. Tanton will continue to work his way through the Midwest this month, ending the tour in NYC before heading overseas for a set of European performances.

Prominently featured on NPR twice in one week, Tanton was awarded with the #1 spot on The World Cafe "Next 20" highlighting the brightest up-and-coming artists.

Freeclouds has already been heralded by Refinery29, Pitchfork and MTVHive among others, and is Tanton's first release since his celebrated 2007 I Was Submerged EP as Tulsa.

In addition to recording and co-writing one song on Marissa Nadler's well-received 2011 album, Tanton has recorded albums by George Lewis Jr. (Twin Shadow) and Drug Rug among others, and is the newest active member of Baltimore-based Lower Dens.

Rolling Stone once noted Tanton's "indie-seraphim voice is not of this world," so be sure not to miss it live in concert this fall.
