NY-based quartet People Get Ready have debuted "Disappear", a catchy new single from their self-titled EP released last week with Quite Scientific Records.
Earlier this fall, the group played a sold out performance with label mates Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. in NYC, recently made an appearance at CMJ Music Marathon and will perform a one-off set in NYC next Saturday, November 26.
Stream People Get Ready - "Uncanny":
Steven Reker (who recently choreographed the t-shirt scene in filmmaker Miranda July's movie The Future), founded the band with Luke Fasano (formerly of Yeasayer and Ex-Models) after frequent encounters at live music shows that incorporated dance.
Reker started choreographing dance pieces for their sets while on a year long world tour as a dancer and guitarist to David Byrne.
Adding Jen Goma (A Sunny Day In Glasgow) and James Rickman (Slow Gherkin) to the mix, the group started working collaboratively with dancers - reshaping their live show.
The band will continue to perform behind the EP until the spring, and expect to release an LP of brand new material in 2012.
