Wires in the Walls conjure a smile inducing and carefree world with their video for the infectious toe tapping song, YSA off of their newest album 'New Symmetry' that came out in October.
Director Brent Willis was able to visually capture the pure joy and heartfeltness of the melodies and lyrics, by creating a world steeped in innocence and love.
Watch YSA video:
Based in Los Angeles, Wires in the Walls operates with a very DIY ethos, from the recording process down to silk screening their own tshirts, and like everything that Wires does, this video was a labor of love.
"The lesson here is this, working with a really trusting band, and a tight-knit team on a perfect little love letter to nostalgia can be pretty awesome," says director Brent Willis. Chris Olness along with editor Erin Nordstrom (Wilco's "I Am Trying to Break Your Heart"), also directed a mini-documentary on the making of New Symmetry, the first video of which can be viewed below.
Wires in the Walls - Los Angeles Sessions (part 2) video:
"The guitars of Dave Irelan and singer Warren Sroka perfectly intertwine with Dave Sicher’s piano while Nick Tracz's sinewy bass lines hold the whole thing together impressively." - Pop Matters (on New Symmetry)
Shows:
November 29, 2011 - On the Rox w/ The Western States Motel + The Calfornian - West Hollywood, CA
