'GOLD' DIGITAL SINGLE AVAILABLE NOW

MUSIC FEATURED ON ABC'S GREY'S ANATOMY

Wake Owl has become the newest addition to the Vagrant Records roster, and the band's first single "Gold" is available digitally now.

The haunting track blossoms from hushed piano and violin-laced verses into a joyous, triumphant chorus. The band's introductory EPK, soundtracked by "Gold" and featuring singer/songwriter Colyn Cameron, can be viewed below.

Fans, meanwhile can hear Wake Owl on ABC's drama Grey's Anatomy, which aired last night (November 8, 2012).

Wake Owl began with primary member Cameron, who started writing songs around age 16. The Vancouver by way of southern California native (he currently splits his time between Vancouver and Portland, OR) traversed the world in his late teens and early 20s, including two years studying organic agriculture at Emerson College in England, and working on farms throughout the UK, Germany, Chile, and Canada.

Cameron's vast travels acted as a songwriting catalyst: after returning home to British Columbia and spending a brief period playing in other bands, he began creating and recording his own songs as Wake Owl. These songs - including the arresting "Gold" - will be featured on an upcoming EP.

Now also comprised of multi-instrumentalist Aiden Briscall and additional supporting players, Wake Owl has toured Canada supporting Bahamas, Zeus, and The Jezabels, and has played a number of their own US shows as well.

More news from Wake Owl will be announced soon.
