LongRoad Opening for Candlebox August 2, 2006

Up and coming New Jersey alternative band, LongRoad, is opening for Candlebox at the Starland Ballroom - one of Candlebox's first live performances since the late 90's.

(Rutherford, NJ) July 28, 2006 -- New Jersey-based LongRoad will be performing their blend of alternate rock with an aggressive rock core at The Starland Ballroom with headliner Candlebox on Wednesday, August 2, 2006. Candlebox, one of the country's most acclaimed grundge rock bands of the '90's, has embarked on a summer tour of the United States after an absence on the music scene since 1999.

About LongRoad:

LongRoad is an amalgam of three childhood friends hailing from New Jersey – Pete Fusco (backing vocals, guitars), Tony Mussara (bass, backing vocals) and Dave Rettagliata (drums), with Ted Ames (lead vocals, guitars), of Coventry, Vermont.

LongRoad was formed in January 2005 when the other members met Ted Ames at the Knitting Factory in NYC. A decision was made to explore their commonality of musical influences and interests further in the studio. The result is the band's newly released debut CD, This Too Shall Pass, already receiving high praise.

Band members cite influences ranging from the Rolling Stones, Neil Young and Bob Dylan to Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Bon Jovi and Metallica. This broad mix of influence has yielded a sound that is alternate rock in nature with an aggressive rock core.

"The songs are the product of living our lives", says singer Ted Ames, "they are an honest mix of storytelling and emotion based upon our experience and observation in and of the world around us." From the anthemic and rebellious Low Ground, to the "never-have regret" underlying the upbeat Somebody's Princess, to the forlorn feeling of loss painted in lyric in Home, the band's work ringing true with its fans and critics alike.
