Morningwood to perform “Sugarbaby” on David Letterman tonight!

Morningwood

Tune into CBS for The Late Show with David Letterman at 11:30pm ET/PT tonight (it’s Thursday, September 25, 2008, people) and check out a live performance of Morningwood’s new song “Sugarbaby.”

Until then, you can watch the spicy/sweet video for “Sugarbaby” here:

Morningwood – “Sugarbaby” video CLEAN Version:

“Chantal Claret has as much punk-rock swagger as Courtney Love, pop appeal as Hilary Duff, and bawdy stage presence as Peaches (without the in-your-face raunch).”Nylon

Capitol Records rock band Morningwood (Chantal Claret, Pedro Yanowitz), much-admired champions and torchbearers of the downtown New York scene, have returned with a new four-track digital EP.

Recently described by vocalist/writer Claret as having an eclectic sound with flavors of the band’s many influences, EP tracks will include the all-out, crunchingly aggressive single, “Sugarbaby;” the hellzapoppin’, tempo-shifting “That’s How You Know It’s Love,” the seductive “Best of Me,” and an anthemic “Killer Life.”

The hilarious video for “Sugarbaby” features a puppet crafted to the likeness of Claret by James W. Wojtal Jr., who has worked in the Jim Henson Studio and with the Broadway smash Avenue Q. MTV premiered the video in August and the band will also be performing the single on The Late Show with David Letterman.

Morningwood played at BUST Magazine’s 15-year anniversary celebration, held August 12th, 2008 in the unique 1920s-built Spiegeltent, located on Pier 17 at Manhattan’s South Street Seaport.

Morningwood’s first self-titled Capitol album was a Billboard Heatseekers No. 1 at its release in 2006 and received critical acclaim from publications including Blender, Paper, Giant, Nylon, Playboy, Alternative Press included the group in their “Most Anticipated Releases of 2008″ issue earlier this year, and countless others and landed the band on The Late Show with David Letterman, The Tonight Show, Last Call with Carson Daly and Jimmy Kimmel Live. The single “N.Y. Girls” is featured in the soundtrack of the 2008 No. 1 box-office smash film comedy Sex and the City.
