Serving as a benefit for the Mulcahy family, the album contains an amazing linup of indie rock greats contributing their own versions of Mulcahy songs.

With Thom Yorke, Michael Stipe and The National handling the first three tracks on the album, the fourth is David Berkeley's haunting version of "Love’s The Only Thing That Shuts Me Up." Dinosaur Jr., Elvis Perkins, Mercury Rev and Frank Black also contribute songs to the album.

“We're particularly taken with ‘Love's The Only Thing That Shuts Me Up’ by David Berkeley. A lovely interpretation from a rich voice,” commends Katie Hasty of HITFIX upon an early listen to the album.

Always humbled in the presence of those he admires, Berkeley made sure to keep his track length brief, clocking it at 1 minute and 54 seconds. "I'm sure it's the shortest song on the album, as it probably should be," laughs David. "Didn't want to take up too much space among these giants."

Recently featured in BLURT taping a live session and interview for WFUV with John Platt and with upcoming morning show performances, Berkeley has had his schedule full promoting his recent release 'Strange Light'.

American Songwriter gave the album three stars, calling it “inspired” and, after recently touring with Katie Melua and a string of UK dates, David has a Fall U.S. tour supporting 'Strange Light' is on the way.

In July, David fit in a private rooftop showcase on a perfect summer evening atop the ATLAS building in NYC as part of the Open A.I.R. concert series. The roof was packed with industry, friends and family with Berkeley performing the perfect soundtrack to the sunset amidst the New York skyline.

Between interviews and sunset rooftop outings, David and his friend and fellow Atlanta musician Micah Dalton have created ATL Collective, a new musical venture to build cohesion and collaboration in the Atlanta music scene.

They put on monthly events where hand picked artists will come together to cover a classic album. The first event was Blood on the Tracks, and it was BYOBM (bring your own blood mary). August 26th’s happening will be Fleetwood Mac and Cheese. Artists will cover Rumours. And yes, it's BYOMC.
