Produced by Paul Corkett (The Cure, Placebo, Nick Cave, Bjork, Biffy Clyro) at Moles Studios in Bath, 'Where Are You Now' is the first release of many, and is being released worldwide through Right Track/ Universal Music Distribution which is a big step for the band - and has Munich looking forward to the future.
Although this is their first release, Munich have been working hard in the studio pushing their craft hard playing the gig circuit and writing new songs and building their fanbase.
As to expect from Munich the EP has 5 well crafted, well written exciting anthemic pop tracks with shattering lead guitars, heavy precise drums, striking vocals and lyrics that really push all the right buttons.
Whilst writing the EP, the boys found a connection with the lyrics and names of the tracks being related and therefor deciding it should run around the similar theme of the globe.
Stuart Slade (Vocals), James Mckeown (Guitar, piano, vocals), Stuart Weller (Guitar), Josh Holmes (Drums), and Tom Howland (Bass) have been likened to stadium rockers The Verve and Muse and are a band with great integrity and passion for their music. They have always said they would only release anything to the public if they thought it would be special and a little different from their previous work.
They've played the likes of Glastonbury , The Great Escape festivals and the London and Brighton gig circuits in venues such as Digital, Concorde2, O2 Academy Islington and proud Galleries alongside: Codeine Velvet Club, Chapel Club, Maccabees, Bluetones and Cornershop and Graham Coxon to name a few.
In the past year they have received some great press and radio from John Kennedy on XFM's X-Posure show, Brighton's Juice FM, Source magazine and XYZ to name only a few and will continue to gain more features and airplay as time goes by.
The EP is available for digital download through Universal Music Distribution 1st November, 2010 on all online media such as iTunes, Spotify, we7, Tesco Digital and HMV.co.uk to name only a few. Although mainly a digital release you will be able to pick up a physical limited edition copy from a couple of the local Brighton / London music stores.
The release of the EP sees two LAUNCH PARTIES from Brighton to London early NOVEMBER 2010 where Munich will be playing a selection of their best tracks along with FREE drinks and fun times.
'Where Are You Now' EP tracks: 1. British Columbia 2. Thief & The Carpenter 3. Rome 4. Where are you now 5. St. Louis
Media Quotes:
Q Magazine
"Masters of the slow build with huge swathes of strings reminiscent of The Verve at their best with added chiming guitars and a hint of James at their best. This Brighton five piece have some evocative fist clenching tunes and a giant voice in the shape of simply dubbed singer Slade"
XFM (X-posure show - John Kennedy)
"Epic, I love them"
XFM (head of music - Mike Walsh)
"Munich are great and just what British music needs"
Audience / Live Magazine (James Drury)
"With its anthemic strings and powerful crescendo, Right Time Right Place has serious chart potential"
Brighton Source Magazine (James Kendell)
"After seven minutes it's obvious that the newly renamed Maura Kincaid are heading to the big time. The quality is especially impressive as Into The Rain is recorded live, its brooding epicenes perfectly realized, all slashed and chimed guitars and heart-bleeding vocals. Right Place Right Time has the same widescreen emotion as Coldplay at their best. No wonder Munich won Q Magazine's Emerging Talent competition. It's just the start"
XYZ Magazine
"Dreamy pop written with the summer festivals in mind"
Juice FM (Tony Marks)
"With songs as huge as Together Again, Munich deserve to be playing in front of equally huge audiences"
The Fly (2009)
"Maura Kincaid are one of those Brighton most mysterious bands who have up until now, kept themselves under wraps, only playing the odd festival and small venue. But new demos and photo shoots have surfaced, hopefully meaning that the epic and well- honed quintet will come out of their lair"
