Jessica Lea Mayfield makes Nonesuch Records debut with Tell Me, out February 8th
New album produced by The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach
Jessica Lea Mayfield's Nonesuch Records debut, Tell Me, will be released February 8, 2011.
Produced by The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach, the album follows Mayfield's acclaimed 2008 release, With Blasphemy So Heartfelt, which debuted in the CMJ Top 200 and in the top 50 on the "Indie Albums" chart. Of the album, the Seattle Weekly said, "Her languorous, understated, and often dark sound can best be described as Hope Sandoval meets Jim James meets Neko Case," while the Cleveland Free Times named her "Vocalist of the Year."

Tell Me is currently available to pre-order at jessicaleamayfield.com and at nonesuch.com, where the first 250 CD or vinyl copies include an exclusive signed 7" of the album's first single, "Our Hearts Are Wrong." Jessica Lea Mayfield first came to the label's attention when she sang backing vocals on The Black Keys' 2008 Nonesuch album, Attack & Release. Her performance on the track "Things Ain't Like They Used To Be" made the then 17-year old the first guest vocalist to appear on any record released by the acclaimed duo. In addition to producing, Dan Auerbach also engineered the 11-track album and provided backing vocals as well as guitar and drum loops.
Since the release of With Blasphemy So Heartfelt in 2008, Mayfield has toured alongside numerous renowned artists, including The Avett Brothers, Ray LaMontagne, Band of Horses and The Black Keys.
In advance of the release, Mayfield will tour throughout this winter, including dates with Jay Farrar and Justin Townes Earle.
