In a 5-week run of 35 shows at the New End Theatre, Hampstead, Kate will perform music by singers and songwriters including Bessie Smith, Sophie Tucker, Dorothy Fields, Dolly Parton, Peggy Lee, Kirsty McColl, Carole King and Dusty Springfield.
Kate makes a glamorous return to the stage with Cirque du Soleil director Cal McCrystal, with whom she is working for the third time.
Kate's versatile voice will be accompanied by The Honky Tonk Angels (aka: Naadia Sheriff on piano, Jonty Fisher on bass, Sophie Alloway on drums and Chris Allard on guitar) as they explore the highs and lows of a woman's life, at home, at work and at play - inspired by Kate's own experience of being a mother of two and a successful singer.
After the 5-week London run, Kate will take her soulful renderings of this exciting range of songs on a UK-wide tour [dates TBC].
Kate has established herself as an impressive and talented singer. Dazzling reviews of her past concerts and recordings speak of her versatility, passion and soul. Not only is Kate a talented singer, but she also has a real gift as a songwriter, producing an album of her own music entitled Things As They Are in 2009.
Kate Dimbleby's diverse career has seen her perform across Britain and at prestigious venues including the Royal Festival Hall, Pizza on the Park, The Stables at Wavendon and Soho's exclusive club, Kabaret. She has frequently appeared at Lenny Beige's Regency Rooms and Madame JoJo's in Soho. She has toured Australia and New Zealand with her shows Fever! and Music to Watch Boys By.
