Introducing Scars on 45
Just a few years ago, creating music was the last thing on former professional soccer player Danny Bemrose's mind. However, a broken foot pulled him away from playing professionally with England's Huddersfield Town F.C. From there, he picked up his father's guitar and by sheer happenstance it all started to unfold.
For quite some time the band didn't bother with a name… until they met Oasis' Noel Gallagher. When Gallagher asked Danny and Stu 'What's your band's name?' they replied with: 'We don't really have one.' Noel said, 'A band without a name? What kind of f***ing band is that?' and walked off. They then decided it best to take a line from an Emmylou Harris interview where she mentioned her father would always tell her when she was a young girl to not get "Scars on his 45s" when she played them.
With a new name and a few new members on board the band had the good fortune of catching the eyes of CSI: New York and was selected to have their song "Beauty's Running Wild" run in an extended closing scene.
From there, the music caught the eye of noted music supervisor, Alexandra Patsavas which lead to the signing of the band to Chop Shop/Atlantic Records.
Scars on 45 will soon be releasing their new EP, Give Me Something, January 18, 2011 with the full length to follow later in the year.
