Person L, the new band from The Starting Line’s lead singer/songwriter Kenneth Vasoli, will release its debut album, ‘Initial’, on August 5th, 2008 via Vasoli’s own imprint, Human Interest.
The band – which features Kenneth Vasoli on lead guitar and vocals, Ryan Zimmaro and Brian Medlin on drums and percussion, Charles Schnieder on bass and Nathaniel Vaeth on Rhodes piano and guitar – will be the direct support for Anthony Green (Circa Survive) on his upcoming tour, which launches August 6th, 2008 (See full itinerary below). Preorder Initial.
With ‘Initial’, Vasoli steps away from The Starting Line’s melodic punk legacy and draws from a broader palette, resulting in an adventurous album that not only pushes the envelope – it licks and seals it.
Spin.com recently praised the band’s “expansive, explorative set” at the 2008 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in a home page feature that included a backstage interview and snippet of Person L’s performance.
Grateful for The Starting Line’s success, from its 2002 debut at No. 1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart through two subsequent albums Top 30 albums on The Billboard 200, sold-out tours of four continents and over 700,000 records sold, Vasoli was looking for a way create the music he wanted to on his own terms and benefit others in the process. So he bypassed the major labels in favor of founding his own label, Human Interest, which he decided would donate a portion of the proceeds from each record sold to human-interest charities.
The digital album will be available through the band’s webstore and at iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, EMusic and numerous other digital retailers. Physical copies will be sold at shows and at the band’s webstore.
The track listing for Initial is as follows:
1. Wooden Soldiers
2. Holy Hell
3. Help Yourself
4. Canyonlands
5. Born in the Rainy Days of May
6. We’re Gonna Run Out of Road
7. Sunshine
8. Storms
