Diemonds - December 2009 India tour dates + watch video

Toronto, Canada's hardest-working independent band Diemonds is gearing up for Maharani Madness - a tour of India, where they will bring their unique brand of sleaze to some majorly rockin' cities.

The promotional tour will celebrate the Indian release of their debut EP 'In the Rough' on Percept Networks, as well as a national push for their video "Highway".

The stint will take them from Bangalore, Shillong, Mumbai, New Delhi, Dimapur and Pune, until December 23, 2009, with more dates awaiting confirmation.

They will be representing Canada on the Bombay Rock Association's City Rocks festival. Gaining notoriety for their explosive live shows, Diemonds is hot off the heels of the successful "Loud N' Nasty" Canadian headlining tour.

Diemonds playing in India will undoubtedly be a life-altering experience. The outdoor festival in Shillong, will be performed to an estimated crowd of 10,000 people.

Diemonds will be the first ever female-fronted international rock act to play there. Diemonds is following in the footsteps of other rock acts, like The Scorpions, Mr. Big, and Iron Maiden who have played at Polo Grounds in the past.

Singer Priya Panda is especially excited to rock her native land. "My parents are from Mumbai, so I truly can't wait to play in India. I'm so stoked for this opportunity and it'll be a spiritual journey for me. This will be my first time out with Diemonds and I know it won't be the last. Get ready India!"

2010 will see Diemonds continue to establish themselves as an international touring band, sponsored by Jagermeister. Diemonds is proud to see their video "Highway" in rotation on MuchMusic and MuchLoud in Canada.

Diemonds independently released their debut E.P. 'In the Rough' in October '08. It has since been named best album of 2009 by UK's Classic Rock Magazine, Blogs N' Roses and by infamous UK radio host and glamster, Kelv Hellrazer, to name a few.

In Canada, "In the Rough" quickly sold out of its first pressing and gained the backing of the likes of rocker/producer Moe Berg, (The Pursuit of Happiness) who has since recorded a song with Diemonds, and singer Paul Mars Black (LA Guns). They were even featured on the radio show "London Calling" on LA's 100.1 The Edge.

"Residing in the nether-region between '70s glam-punk and '80s hair metal" (Eye Weekly) Diemonds has taken cues from veterans like Guns n' Roses, Aerosmith, and KISS and created their own brand of louder-than-hell, memorable rock n' roll.

Powerhouse Priya Panda takes centre stage on vocals, C.C. Diemond is lead guitar slayer and a thunderous rhythm section is rounded out by Cuzo on bass guitar and Al Biddle (ex-Toxic Holocaust/Rammer) on drums.

Rock rag Sleazegrinder called 'em "Young, Tough, & Canadian" and this band of late-night lovin' misfits prove that there ain’t no such thing as too loud. Long Live Party Rock!
