The Pogues announce new tour dates

Advertisements:

The PoguesI can’t think of a better time of year for The Pogues to be planning a tour. Of course for those who are familiar with The Pogues will know right away that I’m talking about March and the days leading up to and including St. Patrick’s Day. The Pogues not playing on St. Patrick’s day would be like Santa not working on Christmas Eve. It just wouldn’t be right.

Since coming to the UK, I’ve not only been introduced to The Pogues punk Irish/folk music, but I’ve learned to love it and of course their unpredictable, beer loving front-man Shane MacGowan. Although his interviews may be difficult to watch for some, he is well respected amongst his fans and I believe underrated as an incredible songwriter and poet.

The Pogues’ music has been played many a time in my home and will no doubt be playing on St. Patrick’s day. We’ll be sure to raise a toast to Shane and the boys.
