Quitzow 'Art College' release + watch video, download MP3 + tour dates

Erica Quitzow

Juggling playing catchy-as-all-hell Moog/Rhodes/Korg synth melodies while singing with her alternately playful and woeful vocal stylings, Erica Quitzow brings a vast range of diversity to her records and live performance.

The latest Quitzow release, 'Art College', is a collection of sing-along pop collages and orchestral arrangements, splashed over hip hop, electro-clash, and down tempo beats, and topped off with adventurous harmonies.

Erica Quitzow constantly explores new influences for her inner child gone wild, neo-post electro-pop sound. 'Art College' is a record that's as playful as it is creative.

Le Tigre fans take note of Quitzow's riot-grrl-meets-vocoder single "On TV!" and Erica's knack for elegant yet expert pop hooks shines through on tracks like "Better Than Ever."

Be sure to check out her music video to the title track "Art College", an homage to all things, well, art-college.

This is a taste of what to expect on her current national tour with label-mate Setting Sun.

Art College is out now on Young Love Records.

In The Press:

"Quitzow are one of the few bands that actually succeed in blending several contrasting textures and genres. Their combination of moog-based rock, cello driven dirges, downbeat trip-hop, and quirky, funky pop may sound a bit skewed on paper, but in execution, it's a delight, and the same could be said about their performances. Last night's gig at the Delancey was of no exception.... Live, Quitzow are a lush and extravagant beast...Two amplified/pedal driven cellos, bass, drums, and a series of backup vocals fleshed out the otherwise synth, guitar, and vocal driven tunes. Even throughout a series of technical troubles, all of which can be pinned on a dicey club soundman, the band soldiered on to deliver a series of incredibly fun and danceable grooves ("Sponsor," "Stay Away From John"), occasionally breaking the mold to perform songs exclusively meant to tug at heartstrings ("Love")." - LimeWire Music

"Oh, words can't express how much I adore this woman (full name: Erica Quitzow). If you dig Peaches, Le Tigre and early Liz Phair, she'll be right up your alley. Her new album is called Art College. I want to be her roommate." - USA Today's "Pop Candy"
