'Twisted City' is an album from talented young, London-based artist Chris Singleton. It documents a journey across London, influenced by a variety of Chris's own personal experiences and anecdotes in the capital as well as many which anyone who's travelled through the city can relate to.
Each song tells a specific story from Chris's travels. Tracks such as "The Only One" and "Twisted City" were inspired by underground stations Piccadilly Circus and Waterloo, respectively, and reflect Chris's impressions of the commuter lifestyle. Meanwhile the more contemplative "You Carry On" documents a tranquil boat trip from Westminster to Tower Pier.
Chris's love of London doesn't stop there and he is racking up an impressive number of gigs across the capital. He has performances to his name on a bus, a train, a boat and perhaps most bizarrely a taxi! He also played an amazing 29 guerrilla gigs in just one day, one on every street of the monopoly board.
So that his fans will be able to share in the 'Twisted City Tour' experience for free, Chris has made the album available for free in a "virtual cassette" format that can be swapped and shared by millions of music fans around the world; just like the old days.
Furthermore, Chris has created a guide, which includes directions, facts and stories about the various stops on the journey, and how they inspired him. It also explains which songs relate to which parts of the trip and why. The design is excellent and, it's a whole album and a unique and fantastic tour for free.
