London City Showcase announces an evening with Nitin Sawhney

Nitin Sawhney

To kick start the build up to this year's much anticipated City Showcase, Nitin Sawhney will be doing an exclusive show and masterclass at the Apple Store, Regent Street, London as a precursor to this year's main event.

The evening will be on 28 February 2009 at 7.30 pm and will include a workshop Q & A with attendees.

City Showcase Director Nanette Rigg says "This will be the first in a special series of City Showcase music events hosted at the store and we are honoured to have such an accomplished and innovative artist as Nitin perform at the first one."

Nitin Sawhney has worked with artists including Sting, Paul McCartney, Jeff Beck, Brian Eno and Sinead O'Connor to name but a few as well as producing the latest Get Cape. Wear Cape.Fly album for Atlantic records.

He has also scored over 40 films and is one of the most prolific artists of recent years having toured the world over with both his band and orchestras.

Nitin will be performing a selection of songs from his new album and people are advised to get there early as space is limited.

Meanwhile, City Showcase will take place in London on May 7-9th, and intends to shine a light on yet more great emerging artistry as well as give creative and career advice to budding musicians.

City Showcase has a great record of spotting tomorrow's emerging talent today: Keane, Razorlight, Amy Winehouse, Scouting for Girls and Ironik all performed at the festival before they became the household names we know today.

All shows are free and artists wanting to apply should go to: City Showcase Official Website
