Renowned for a riotous live show and a love for all things dark and menacing, Sheffield 4-piece La Folie are preparing to release their exciting debut album 'Risus Sardonicus' through Tufty Records on April 5th!
The band has developed an original and compelling sound, mixing catchy and memorable hooks with a brooding and macabre undertone to produce an album that's as beautifully aggressive as it is menacingly accessible.
Lyrically it's a vivid and sinister delight, steeped in subtle metaphor and entertaining rhetoric that will whisk any unsuspecting listener away on a journey of clever and masterly storytelling. Infectious, fresh and woven with epic intent the band have delivered an impressive statement of psychedelic charm and quirky song writing skill!
Musically speaking, La Folie have drawn comparison to the like's of The Doors, The Pixies, Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster and Gogol Bordello and whilst there is little doubt their debut album will appeal to fans of these acts, it is already clear that La Folie are dancing down a raw and wild path purely of their own imagination's construction.
With a UK tour ready to be announced and summer festival appearances already being booked, La Folie look ready to announce their arrival on the national stage!
