Lara Ewen To Play The Oyster Bay Music Festival on June 2nd

Americana artist, Lara Ewen will be performing as part of a benefit concert supporting Heifer.org on Saturday, June 2nd in Oyster Bay, NY.  Her performance will be part of the Oyster Bay Music Festival’s Hoedown for a Heifer, which takes place from noon to dusk on 61 East Main Street in Oyster Bay. Proceeds from the performance and the festival will be donated to Heifer.org.

Heifer.org purchases cows and chickens for families in developing nations in order to provide them with a sustainable source of food.  Local businesses such as Franny’s restaurant in Brooklyn along with companies such as ReadyMade Magazine and Method cleaning products will be sponsoring the event.  For more information, please visit www.heifer.org.

The all day benefit concert will feature performances from nine triborough-area-based bands and singer-songwriters.  In addition to Lara, the line-up includes:

Joey Auch
Laura Jean Binkley
Gold Streets
Beau Jennings
Jay Mankind
Kelli Rudick
Matt Singer
Wynn Walent

Lara Ewen’s career began nearly 20 years ago in Boston.  She picked up her first guitar and began writing music while attending college.  Her bluesy, Americana style has gained her favorable comparisons to Lucinda Williams, Patty Griffin, and Ani Difranco.  She self-released her debut full-length “Ghosts and Gasoline” on March 2nd.

“This is the kind of album which sticks with you long-term, leaving an emotional imprint in the same league with your first kiss, your first road trip and your first heartbreak.” -CD Baby
