After a very competitive, but also very collaborative contest, we are excited to announce the winners of the Mariah Carey Remix Contest.
Fans were challenged to create a remix of "I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time" that was to be judged on originality, creativity, and marketability - and man did they ever.
Amongst over 1,200 submissions, The Progressions have won first place - $5,000 - and will be featured on MariahCarey.com, IslandRecords.com, and Mariah's MySpace page.
They are also listed as Mariah's "top friend" on MySpace for a month!
The runner up, Sevan O. receives a Digidesign MBox2.

About Indaba Music
Need a band? Gather 'round the Web...
Indaba Music (www.IndabaMusic.com) is a magical place... a virtual recording studio/café where musicians can gather, collaborate and create music together, regardless of their geographic location. Home to both professional and amateur musicians - including some Grammy award-winning producers - the site offers tools for uploading, editing and mixing tracks, as well as rich media and blogging tools that allow artists to communicate with each other and with their fans. For fans, Indaba offers unprecedented access to artists and their creative process, enabling them to engage with the artist in creative ways.
As Web 2.0 continues to deliver tools and widgets for artists, Indaba Music gives bands and independent musicians a platform to record an album without ever being in the same room with their fellow musicians. Indaba's in-browser cache allows one to mix and edit up to 12 tracks in-browser with no software downloads. Indaba allows artists to create both private and public sessions, and artists can license tracks using a variety of Creative Commons licenses, or reserve all rights. Other tech highlights include an advanced server-side audio processing system and Power artist search engines.
Press:
"Indaba is not unlike walking through a giant rehearsal space, where you can find the best gigs just by strolling past the other rooms and eavesdropping." - Pitchfork
"The long-established rules of music production are being rewritten, according to a now-familiar refrain." - LA Times
"Until recently, there was no easy way for the amateur musician to collaborate cheaply, easily and in an open online environment. However, a new crop of startups (Indaba) are changing that with efforts to capitalize on open social networking, as a way to bring online music collaboration to the masses". - Wired
