Aviv Geffen - "It Was Meant To Be A Love Song" review
By Dave Tommo on Jul 20, 2009 in Music News, New Releases, Reviews and Commentary | Tags: Aviv Geffen
They say that in his home country of Israel, Aviv Geffen outsells Madonna, Coldplay and U2, so I was keen to hear what type of tune he would produce - and I have to say I wasn't disappointed. File under misunderstood in a strange and distant land and you might be close to where he is coming from.
"It Was Meant To Be A Love Song" is an interesting piece of music and if this chap was from England or the USA he would have no problem forging a career in the West. He has a soothing voice and sings about relevant themes, not just love songs. Yes, he is a very creative young man and it would be good to see more of him here in good old Blighty.
If I was his management, I would put him on supporting La Roux, because there is that 80's influence in the music. Not ashamed to use drum machines and synths in his music, Aviv is an interesting cookie worth investigating.
