fun. prepares for debut album, ‘Aim and Ignite’
Band Confirms two North American tours
New song, “Walking The Dog” now available
The highly anticipated debut album from fun., ‘Aim And Ignite’, approaches its August 25, 2009 release date with two very exciting North American tours.
Beginning August 14th in El Paso, Texas, Nate Ruess (The Format), Andrew Dost (Anathallo) and Jack Antonoff (Steel Train), who are collectively known as fun., will embark on a two-week tour with admirers, Hellogoodbye. Soon after, the carnival-pop outfit will head out on their first headlining tour of the states beginning September 8th in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Due to the overwhelming demand on message boards, the band recently gave fans another sneak peak at ‘Aim And Ignite’ with their latest song, “Walking The Dog.” Much like the news of this collaboration, the song was met with immediate excitement and resulted in a tremendous amount of online exchange between old and new fans. With just two songs available, the band’s MySpace page is quickly approaching 700,000 plays.
A special collectors edition of ‘Aim And Ignite’ will be available to fans via a limited time pre-order, exclusively through the band’s website. The fan pack will include a clear vinyl 12″ that has been splattered with colorful paint and comes in a very cool multi-layer package. A digital copy of ‘Aim And Ignite’ along with a limited edition band t-shirt (printed on Indigo American Apparel Tri-Blend) will accompany the fan pack. Fans can order via www.ournameisfun.com.
The band’s lead single, “All The Pretty Girls” will be released to iTunes on August 4th.
Since it’s incarnation, fun. has crisscrossed the country with Jack’s Mannequin and Manchester Orchestra and has hypnotized sold out crowds with their irresistible rethinking of classic 70’s pop.
