The Brighton Port Authority (BPA) release "Seattle" featuring Emmy The Great; watch video

The Brighton Port Authority

The Brighton Port Authority, Norman Cook's latest genre-carving outfit, smashed into the world's collective conscious earlier this year with their debut release "Toe Jam". With David Byrne and Dizzee Rascal manning the microphones it was the joyously ubiquitous sound of summer 2008, setting the scene for a truly ambitious musical proposition.

Now the South Coast collective return with their brand new single "Seattle", featuring anti-folkster Emmy The Great.

Released on the 24th November 2008 (Southern Fried), Emmy The Great's evocatively enchanting voice coats a blissfully Balearic groove as spine tingling acoustic guitars filter seductively in and out of the mix. Featuring the greatest sing-along chorus that Joni Mitchell never wrote, "Seattle" even sees Jack Penate getting in on the irresistible vocal action.

Watch "Seattle" video featuring Emmy The Great:

The bumper remix package kicks off with soulful Drum 'n' Bass siblings Brookes Brothers who crank up the pace with some fruity organ hooks surfing the supercharged beats.

Teutonic dance-floor legend Azzido Da Bass goes head to head with Smallboy on a House monster that adds a generous helping of sub shakingly brutal bass to the pot that's sure to guarantee heavy heads-down behaviour at the disco.

And finally the bad boy of Dutch House Jaimie Fanatic comes correct with a soaring re-rub that builds and builds on the original's vocal melodies before dropping some throbbing, havoc inducing low-end riffage to complete another sublime BPA outing.

The full BPA album 'I think we need a bigger boat' is set for release on 26th January 2009 and the next single will feature the legendary Iggy Pop.
