Debut solo single “Just Listen” by Odette reflects a desire to rediscover music as an expression and outlet of emotions generated by everyday life, friendship and relationships.

Odette has found her way back into music as a solo artist with her diverse sparkling new album entitled ‘Just Me’ recorded at Britannia Row Studios (founded and previously owned by Nick Mason of Pink Floyd), and mastered at the well-known renowned London Metropolis Studios.

‘Just Me’ offers a rich taste in musical culture, and is layered with complex textures. The album, inspired by music centred around the 60’s and 70’s, is also influenced by elements of the great Indie sounds from today’s UK rock, and evergreen country-rock music from the US. Odette’s music has an alluring medley of sounds that reflects her eclectic taste in music, with less regard to trend and more to simply creating “damn good music!”

She subscribes to the idea that we need to rediscover what music was before it became mainly a vehicle to become famous or a ‘fast food’ product to be quickly and easily devoured.

Odette was born in Rome, Italy but has lived long parts of her life in New York and in London, where she currently resides. Her history in music started aged five with the piano, followed by writing poems at nine, and songs at fourteen.

Odette signed her first record deal singing and playing the keyboard in a band during her late teens and had her songs published by Warner Chappel in Italy. After a phase studying and working in the business world she has now found her way back to music.

“It’s been a long process of understanding who I am and what I need to do to feel fulfilled and inhabit my own soul. I’ve written songs since I was very young. This seems to be as important to my core/soul as eating and breathing is to my body. I spent years hindering my business career by trying to drown the impelling need to do music, only to understand finally that this is who I am, above anything else,” explains Odette.

She maintains that the joy of “creating something beautiful from nothing except the expression of what is in one’s soul and a few instruments” is need is what inspired this album and Odette’s return to music full time.
